Delfrance Ribeiro Fashion Show, AltaRomAltaModa, Rome

Hi everyone !

My AltaRoma articles continue today with the Delfrance Ribeiro Fashion Show.
It took place on Sunday 8th July in Santo Spirito in Sassia.

Designer background:
Delfrance Ribeiro was born in Minas Gerais, Brasil, and studied in Rio de Janeiro. Soon he left for Milan where he studied Fashion for 3 years at the Institute Marangoni. Being given a possibility to work with Vivienne Westwood, he moved for a short period to London, and then came back to Italy to make a Master at the Institute Carlo Secoli. When he created his first men collection in 2006, he attracted the attention of a few investors who convinced him to create the company "DF DESIGN".
Later on he went to Paris and studied at the Ecole de Chambre de Haute Couture,
which enabled him to develop his very first women collection.
Since 2011 he has been the only Italian stylist invited to the Dragao Fashion Week in Brasil.

The Autumn/Winter 2012 collection is inspired by a woman who is able to use camouflage in order to adapt and evolve in different situations, while revealing her feminity and refinement.

Models with white faces reminding of mime artists presented 30 pieces in autumnal tones of browns and gold (including a wedding dress as the last piece), while black and white were still used as the basics of the DF DESIGN House, representing elegance, romantism and purity. All of the clothes were of baroque inspiration, showing drapings in volume and luxury materials, sometimes enriched with Swarovski crystals.

Ida Ferri Scuola di Moda, AltaRomAltaModa, Rome

Hello everyone !

Today I will present another event of AltaRomAltaModa, which took place on Saturday 7th July in Santo Spirito in Sassia, in the Lancisi room: the collection presentation of Ida Ferri Fashion School.

Once again the school presented the final work of the students for the year 2011 - 2012.

You will find here a sample of the clothes presented:

The main theme was long evening dresses and suits, using elements that create the impression of luxury : dresses made of satin with rich details of embroidery / lace, sometimes showing a range of different layers at the skirt level, for more volume and presence.

I think school collections tend to be sometimes more innovative and interesting than
the ones of larger fashion brands, as students are usually not constrained to a brand
image and they can experiment as much as they want with materials and shapes.
That's also why i'm always very keen to attend catwalk shows from Fashion Schools.

So, that was it for today !
My next report will be about Delfrance Ribeiro's Fashion Show !
