Accademia Factory - The Tree of Creativity, AltaRomAltaModa, Rome

Hi everyone !

Here is another event from AltaRoma, presented this time at the
Accademia di Costume e Moda, on a sunny afternoon in Rome.

The exhibition was divided into 2 main parts:
 - Clothes and accessories created by the students of the accademy and by former students, now belonging to the alumni.
- Costumes created for different theatre pieces, and are now exposed in the accademy.

The accademy entrance:

In the first room were clothes created by former students,
who now have already created their own fashion labels:

In the other rooms were displayed pieces created by the students during the year 2011 / 2012.
Clothes were put all along the corridors, while by getting into the rooms you could find accessories and their initial designs on paper:

Finally the second part of the exhibition was showing the link between fashion and theatre: many costumes created by the students on different occasions for plays have been gathered through different rooms. Some representing historic fashion (a whole room dedicated only to Pope costumes - very Italian somehow !!), the other ones more modern, more suitable for musicals / ballets.

My next report will be on the catwalk show of the Fashion School
"Ida Ferri Scuola di Moda" - check it out !

Who Is On Next - Part 2, AltaRomAltaModa, Rome

Hi everyone !

Here we go for part 2 of AltaRomAltaModa: the catwalk shows and Pret-a-porter competition.

Seven finalists were presenting their collections at Santo Spirito in Sassia on the 7th of July in Rome, in an event organised by Vogue Italia and Alcantara to encourage and discover new talents, as well as promote the quality of fashion "Made In Italy".
Here are the collections that were presented by the designers:

MARCOBOLOGNA by Marco Giugliano and Nicolo Bologna

After creating a jewellry line in 2011, the two young designers started their first
fashion collection with a line of silk T-shirts with jewel macro prints. Their collections
convey a search for excellence and aesthetic balance.

Alessia Xoccato

She focused for her collection on geometric shapes and the relationship between body and space.

San Andres by Andres Caballero (Milan)

The Neo-Retro collection is inspired by an intellectual woman, who appreciates
quality materials, mixing respectability and impertinence.

Susanne Susceptible by Cha Soo Jung

Korean designer, who worked for CNC Costume National, and creates collections
that combine experimentation with the luxury of the "Made In Italy".

 Mario Chiarella

After being in 2006 first assistant of Guillermo Mariotto, Maison Gattinoni, he transfered to Milan where he started his own collection, and now collaborates with the brand Yoj by Laura Strambi.

Koonhor by Koon Lim and Catrine The

The brand was created in 2009 with the aim of dressing the modern woman by showing strenght and inner sophistication. In this collection, feminity and masculinity reach the perfect balance.

Barbara Casasola

After experiencing Roberto Cavalli, Lanvin and Chloe, the designer started her own collection,
which shows minimum cuts, modern designs and exagerated materials.

The winner of the Pret-a-porter competition was
