Christian Louboutin Exhibition in London

Hi everyone !

Today's topic is an exhibition that anyone in London should go and see: The Christian Louboutin exhibition at the London Design Museum.

The designer gathered here a number of the best models he created since the start of the brand. From the end of 1980s until today, he chose to show a range of shoes with original designs and specific themes. Among the themes dealt with by Louboutin is the work he did for the fetish scene, and the models he created in this set of mind. The exhibition is also completed by a short movie starring Dita Van Teese and advertising another model of his shoes.

As it was impossible to take pictures within the exhibition, I have once more used my drawing skills for a few of the models, in order to share with you what I have seen:

Isanami, A/W 08/09
Patent leather in gold colour, metal spikes, strass

Plumetta, A/W 94/95
Satin with feather

Ballet slipper, 2011
Made using Swarovski crystals

Model presented without description at the exhibition.
Made of red satin and black fishnet

No Name, 1986
Leather, wood

Super Sling Tassel, S/S 2006

Fetish - La Menotte, 2007
Patent leather, metal detail & chain

Fetish - Siamoise, 2007
Patent leather

Puck, A/W 11/12
Goatskin, heel in layers of natural leather

Fetish - Spider Boot, 2007

Those shoes are among the ones which I personally found most impressive for the design and the type of heel, but many other ones were worth seeing too, so you know what's left for you to do now !

Let's go Heelless !

Hi everyone !

Today’s topic is something I have been following for over a year now, and which I am ready to invest in: heelless shoes !

The trend started a few years ago when Lady Gaga was seen wearing some, created by Noritaka Tatehana. Some of his first designs include such high heels:

Then other designers created more wearable shapes oriented for pret-a-porter, like Antonio Berardi’s designs worn by Victoria Beckham.

Today, the latest heelless shoes designs come from Giuseppe Zanotti:

2 models have been issued in the most recent collection:

So, did I convince you that they are the must-have now?
